The Alpha Psi chapter is now at its strongest point since reactivation. Sweeping Convention this past summer in Washington, D.C., our chapter again won both the highly coveted McElroy Order of Excellence – for achieving Gold chapter standing for four consecutive years – and an illustrious back-to-back William A. Comstock Award – the highest honour awarded within Zeta Psi. We’ve played an essential role in the rapid Canadian chapter development of the past few years, helping start or reactivate chapters at the University of Western Ontario, Dalhousie University, the University of British Columbia, and Queen’s University. And whenever we can, we organize road trips & travel thousands of miles to well over a dozen Canadian provinces & U.S. states – reaching out to and meeting brothers as far as North Carolina, Vancouver, Chicago, and New Orleans.
On our own campus, our presence is unmatched and widely known. We help raise thousands of dollars for philanthropic causes we care passionately about. This year, Zetes sit on elected executive positions in the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU), the Management Undergraduate Society, and the Arts Undergraduate Society. We lead key committees, events and clubs such as Orientation Week (Frosh), Management Carnival, the Desautels Entertainment Management Conference, the Desautels Sports Management Club, and more. Two Alpha Psi Zetes in recent years have been inducted into the prestigious Scarlet Key Society for their substantial contributions to student life – a trend we hope to continue for years to come.
These achievements – and the many more we are capable of – can only happen thanks to the support of our Elder brothers like you. Your dues go towards easing the burden on Actives for crucial expenses such as chapter insurance (the lowest in Zeta Psi; a result of our excellent and disciplined risk management), as well as contributing to fund a new, permanent Chapter House that accurately reflects the true strength of our Chapter. While other McGill fraternities have seen a consistent decline in their recruitment (or shut their doors entirely), we’ve now seen over five consecutive years of rapid growth in both size, reputation, and strength.
