Alpha Psi Hits the Hay
The Alpha Psi Chapter was proud to reach new levels of diversity at McGill thanks to our brothers on Macdonald campus. On February 1st two Zetes participated in the Mac Royal cow show with great results. The goal of the show is to properly present a heifer to the judge in a professional and attractive manner. In this case it is the showmen themselves who are being critiqued and not the heifer. This is to hone techniques that can be utilized later on when showing prize cattle.
The Mac Royal was brought back to life this year by Justine Pouliot who organised everything from the show itself to practice sessions for the participants. The competition consisted of 3 classes; expert, intermediate, and novice, with a total of 22 participants. Two Alpha Psi brothers (Christopher McGuire and Stephen McGuire) participated in the event under the novice category trying to learn new skill. Christopher and Stephen both attend Macdonald Campus of McGill with majors in Bioresource Engineering. Stephen walked away with 1st place in the novice category while Christopher received 5th within the same category. Overall, the evening event was a great success and provided a necessary break from studies to go have some fun on the farm.
