Right to Play Spin-a-Thon
On Thursday September 29, the brothers of the Alpha Psi Chapter joined together to keep not one, but two bikes spinning all day for the 6th Annual Right to Play Spin-A-Thon. Right to Play is an organization that works with volunteers and partners to use sport and play to enhance child development in areas of disadvantage. The Spin-A-Thon is an event in which spinning bikes are located in the middle of campus at the “Y-Intersection” in hopes of enticing people passing by to donate money in support of those who are.
With two bikes side by side, and Brother Michael Szpejda running what would become known as “The Game,” the brothers raised almost $1,100 for Right to Play, the largest amount raised by a single group on campus and almost doubling their goal of $600. In an effort to further support Right to Play, the brothers also sold over 75 tickets to the Fill the Stadium football game on Right to Plays behalf raising another $300 for the organization. The brothers look forward to working with Right to Play and other Philanthropic Organizations such as CASCO in the near future.
